Paper smooches Sparks challenge 28th jan-3rd feb

it has been a while since i entered a paper smooches sparks challenge. i think the last time was when it was just one challenge not different things each week...that WAS a while ago! but between juggling the kids and getting a bunch of work with practical publishing putting work in magazines like Australian simply cards and Australian paper craft essentials i have been quite the busy bee! not to mention doing my usual posts for the Fiskars blog.

So anyways, this challenge was Picture Perfect.

And here is the pic......

I was stumped  for a little while then i cracked open the new nine lives set from paper smooches. i brought this set cause....well i buy anything with cats on it!

but i had not had the chance to use it yet!
so after a bit of thinking i came up with this card......

To create this card i embossed with white embossing powder the little fish skeletons from the nine lives stamp set on the orange card.
Then i stamped the cat onto some patterned paper ( echo park-a walk in the park paper set) cut him out and added bobble eyes and used a white marker to make his teeth stick out.
This little cat stamp just reminds me so much of my cat Loki!
then using My favorite things jumbo fishtail banner staz dienamics i cut out a grey and white banner, adhered them together then stamped my sentiment and added the cat.
i used 3D foam dots to adhere this all to my card!

I really like how this has turned out. i was not sure of the colours at first but i will be totally using this color combo again!!!

If you would like to join in with the challenge all you need to do is link up your cards HERE.

Lawnscaping challenge #50 winter wonderland

Today i have a cards to share with you that i am entering into the Lawnscaping challenge winter wonderland.
As it is summer here in Oz it is hard to get the mojo going to make wintery cards, but lucky for me it rained today so a little more wintery that the crazy 45 oC we have been having!!! only 26oC today!! but boy the humidity!! almost 100% .

Anyways, i used a bunch of Lawn Fawn stamps in this card. These included happy summer, winter owl, critters in the snow and critters in the burbs. Quite a selection. i Also used the Lawn Fawn 6x6 fa la la paper pad, along with some wood cardstock i got from Jay Gee's Nook and a step card from Down under Direct.

I had a bunch of fun making this card! and i loved how it turned out!!!

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree!

so we are nearly to the end of this months challenge at the mad for markers challenge blog! and only a few days away till Australia Day!!!

And what better way to celebrate that by making another aussie card to share.

This time i used a kookaburra as my inspiration.

I used Lawn Fawns critters down under for this card, along with a few copic markers.

I also used a lil inkers designs frame die to cut out the photo frame in white.

I hope you liked this card.
Do not forget that you can still enter the challenge over at the mad for markers challenge blog till the end of the month!

Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!

Hello there!
so australia day is almost upon us!!!
in a few weeks it will be a huge birthday party for Australia!!!

and this month over at mad for markers is all about copic markers and australian images.
and what better way to say G'day and with a koala!
so here is my card i created.

I made this card with  Lawn Fawn- critters down under stamp set. i coloured the image with the following copic markers.

Then i used some lil inkers nesting rectangle stitches dies to cut out the image. i then used my Fiskars border punches - banners away and boundary waters, to embellish the card along with some buttons, twine and then a fiskars squeeze punch called scalloped heart to cut out the glitter heart. I finished off with a sentiment.

Don't forget you can still enter the challenge over at the mad for markers challenge blog till the end of the month!

And as this is such a great happy birthday card for all Australians i am going to enter it into the Lawnscapping challenge this week which is all about birthdays and you cannot get a bigger birthday than Australia day!!!

Alicias little shop challenge take 2

So after buying a digi file and cresting a cute card to enter Alicias little shops challenge, Alicia released another digi image that i HAD to have....Well...it had cats involved and as im a sucker for pussy cats i had to buy it!
so after printing it out i created this card.

I used the grat digi image which you can purchase here then coloured with copic markers. i then used some great my minds eye papers called on the bright side, and created a cute sentiment with a new simon says stamp set called furry kisses.
I then used a couple of my favorite things dies to add some extra bits to the card and a fiskars border punch to finish it off. a bit of lawn fawn twine and i was done!here are the copic markers i used.
* a note on the colouring of the jumper on this image. i used several Y colours then with my colourless blender i spritzed it onto some old cloth and pressed into the jumper part of the image to get a woo mottled effect to give a bit of texture.*

the challenge has 1 day left so if you are quick you can still enter here
