Making Gumball

My daughter poppy just loves the cartoon - The amazing world of Gumball on the cartoon network. She will sit there for an hour and watch the show! Her favorite character is Gumball which is a silly blue cat that goes to high school and is always getting into trouble with his brother Darwin the fish...i know weird huh! but the kids are crazy for this show!!!
Here is gumball and Darwin.

I have looked high and low for the toys to buy Poppy but apparently they do not make them, so i thought i would make Gumball for Poppy.
I went to my local spotlight store and brought a bunch of polar fleece material. in total i needed about 1/2 metre to make a 46cm toy.
Then with my Fiskars Pinking shears i cut out the fleece. I made sure i cut out it with the wrong side of the fabric as the "right side"as i want the fluffy bit to be his fur.

As you can see in my picture have sewn several colours together before cutting Gumball out. this is so his clothes are incorporated in to his body...less for Poppy to destroy!
Once i had done this i cut with my Donna Dewberry fabric scissors some felt eyes mouth etc for Gumball.

Then i hand stitched them on to his head and added eyebrows and whiskers.

Next i sewed together, his arms, legs ears and tail. I put stuffing in the limbs and then joined the back half of Gumball with his tail making sure all my colours lined up.

I joined up the front with the head, ears, arms and legs. then pinned him together and ran him through the machine all but the bottom there his tail was so i could stuff him.
I stuffed Gumball( i use old pillow filling. when a pillow has run its course i wash them and keep them for stuffing) and hand stitched the opening shut using a ladder stitch.
And here is Gumball.

He does not look too bad! and Poppy loved him when i gave it to her this morning!
I got the basic pattern from Elfpop it was just a cat pattern for $10.00 and then i changed it up to make gumball.

A christmas card using the B's

Good  Morning all!,
I have to share with you today an card i made using the B, BV and BG colours.
I went with the Christmas theme again as these colours lend themselves so well.
Here is the card i designed.

And here are the copic markers i used.

I used a Pink cat studio digi image for this card and coloured with my B and BV markers. I then added some sparkly flock on the white bits to get some texture. I cut from vellum the snowflake pattern for the border(memory box die)  and some snowflake's from glitter card(die-namic die). then i added a swirl and pieced all together.

These colours really came together well. You can buy them all over at the Mad 4 markers online shop and if you need a stamp or 2 they have it also!

Don't forget we are only 1/2 way though our challenge so do not forget to enter Here

using acetate as a card.

Hello there everyone

My sister in law had a bubs last week so i became an Aunt!!! the first thing that came to my head. OMG i need to make a card!

So out come my trusty Fiskars Border punches,Trimmer and scissors!
But i wanted to make the card special! so i decided to make the card out of acetate.
The trick with acetate though is you cannot make mistakes! and you have to plan what you are going to place on it as you can see through it!
I used my Fiskars Trimmer to cut an A4 sheet of acetate in 1/2 and then scored it using the scoring blade on my Fiskars trimmer.
I then started to assemble the card with out gluing.
Here is my card.

P1020430 (Medium)

I used my Fiskars double bubble border punch and my scallop border punch. i then die cut out a butterfly and made a tab for my sentiment. I used my Fiskars fingertip knife to cut out the image i coloured.
Then when i knew it was how i wanted it i used wonder tape to stick on the acetate.
I really hope my sister in law likes it!

Mad 4 Markers monthly challenge ......Winter Blues.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Well i hope you enjoyed last months challenge over at Mad 4 Markers challenge blog How Hard was it not creating a card or layout! Even as designers we all had to think "outside the box" for that one!

This months challenge on the mad 4 markers challenge blog is not so hard.
WINTER BLUES.....Using only B, BG and BV.

As we now are right in the middle of winter here in Australia, i am sure everyone can agree it is COLD!
But the colour range of B,BV and BG do not have to always be such cool colours, sure i would love to see icicles, cute characters and critters all rugged up in scarfs, hats and coats, but with BV and BG in the mix that can give such huge range to colour with.

The first card i have made to share today is using a whole bunch of BV and BG colours. I will be honest i did use 3 E colours to do skin....i did not want her to look like she had frostbite!! I also found that the darker BV colours were great to create hair and the lighter BV's are great for shadowing!

I used some odd girl Furry friend Mae Digital image, along with a Fiskars Double Bubble border punch and a Die-namic clearly sentiment label  die. The sentiment was a sticker from EAD designs.

Here are the Copic colours i used.

Along with the above pics i used E00 ,02 and 11 for the skin .

I have to admit that this looks a little christmassy which i was trying to stay away from so i made another card.

This card i tried to use a lot more BV's on the image. I wanted to share with you that you do not have to have your whole card looking christmassy when using these colours.

Here is what i came up with.

With this card i used Some odd girl stamp Holly Gwen, Kaisercraft papers cock-a-doodle doo and the Gwen in bloom sentiment with embossing powder. the Polaroid shape i made on my PC and printed it out and roughed it up with distress inks.

Here are the copics i used.

So i cannot wait to see the creations you make with this colour challenge. If you are looking for the stamps i used or maybe another some odd girl stamp to colour or even a B,BV or BG to colour with go on over to the Mad 4 Markers store to get all your copic and stamping goodies!!!

Now for your challenge!

I have a few little goodies up my sleeve....so if you would like to win a prize enter your creations below on the link and follow me with GFC (on the left sidebar).
I know not all my readers have Copics so i am happy if you use any materials in the same colour range. If you are not 100% sure on the colours go and check out the copic colour chart to match up papers etc.So you do not have to use copics if you dont have any. This will give everyone a go!!!

Well good luck, and do not forget to enter your card or project over at theMad 4 Markers challenge blog as well this month!!!
