A card a day - day 6

Well, we are almost through our first week of the card a day challenge. Don't forget to go over the ANZ Fiskars blog to see even more great cards during the month of July. so now here is my card for day 6.

This card used the Fiskars Heart shape template and cutter for the different size hearts, my Fiskars scalloped border punch for the border and some zig zag stitching rub ons (as i am a little too lazy to really stitch them on!)the paper is K and Co papers. and the little sentiment is from MFT stamps.

Tuesday Tutorial...masking with stamping

Today is another Tuesday tutorial...a bit late in the day but kids and school holidays.....what can you do!

A lot of people ask when i make cards"what if you want to use more than one stamp on a card to create scene?"

and then i show them how i mask with post it notes.

so today i am going to share this with everyone!

firstly you need to think about your scene. as when you stamp you have to stamp from the front of your scene to the back or you cannot create the illusion of depth.

With this card i am going to create a picture to go into a frame using lawn fawn  fanciful-frames

I stamp the frame and then with my Fiskars fingertip knife cut out the middle.

once cut out use the bit you cut out to trace a shape on a bit of plain card. i am using ex-press it card as i am going to use copics to colour.

Now you can start to add your scene. I am going to use Lawn Fawn critters in the farm which is a new release. You can buy them here. http://www.lawnfawn.com/products/critters-on-the-farm

You need to remember to start from the front back. so i am going to add my fence first.

Once my fence is added i make another copy of my fence on some post it note paper. the stick bit is great as you can peel it off and not affect your card.

then carefully cut it out using your Fiskars fingertip knife.

place the post it note fence over the stamped image on your card.

now you can stamp your next layer of your scene and not affect the fence you have stamped so the next image will appear behind the fence.

keep stamping your image then stamp a copy on your post it note cut out and add to your card so each time you stamp the next image appears in front of the next.

once you have done this several time you should have a layered effect that lets the stamps apear behind each other.

rub out your lines and colour in.

next colour the frame. add tim holtz rock candy distress paint to give the frame an old look and dry. then use distress ink to age even more.

Cut out put over your picture cut around it and add to your card.

I hope you give this a go as it is a great way to create scenes and use your stamps even more!

A Card a day - day 5.

Here is todays card......

This card was created using my Fiskars  Heart Shape express template and cutter, my Fiskars corner rounder ans some K and Co paper,ribbon and for the background i used Hero Arts background stamp with versamark ink. I also used Lawn fawn stamp set Jessie's ABC's to make the title.

A Card a day - day 4.

This card I have created today is a quite simple card. I have used some K and Co paper ,some pop up dots and my Fiskars  Butterfly Shape template and shape express. I cut out the Different size butterflies and layered them on the card with pop dots. A simple but effective card!
